For decades, Australian agriculture has been measured by what it produces. But what if its greatest contribution to the nation lies beyond production?
Join the NSW Rural Press Club for lunch with Brianna Casey AM, Managing Director of AgriFutures Australia, for a conversation that challenges conventional thinking about agriculture's role in Australia's future.
Drawing on insights from AgriFutures’ investigative systems thinking work, Brianna will explore whether agriculture should think of itself not simply as an industry, but as a strategic national asset capable of helping solve some of Australia's most pressing economic, environmental and social challenges.
What happens when we stop asking what agriculture needs from the country and start asking what the country needs from agriculture?
Brianna joined AgriFutures Australia in January 2026 as Managing Director, after almost ten years as the CEO of Foodbank Australia, the country’s largest hunger relief organisation.
Prior to that she was CEO of the Australian Childcare Alliance NSW, CEO of Queensland Farmers Federation, and a Policy Director at NSW Farmers.
Brianna currently serves on the Board of Volunteering Australia, is a proud member of Chief Executive Women and was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Griffith University and named a Member of the Order of Australia in the King’s Birthday Honours.
